I did ask him a question, in just as much of a gentle manner as
possible. I really feel sorry for the boy, and he is obviously a boy,
pretty well evidenced by the fact he is selling for his great-grandmother
and this is his first listing, apparently, he has a zero for a rating
score. The poor kid just doesn't know anything about records.Just read
his listing, he never heard of any of these people on his Grandma's
records, they're black! and what 78 rpm record is not black. 78 means the
speed, not the year? He's not unusual. Almost any time I mention to
acquantances, friends or family I have all these old records, I get the
same reaction, "boy, you're sitting on a fortune". I get the same all the
time when people see my 73 Buick convertible, "Hey, you've got a real
valuable investment there, haven't you?" Funny thing, none of those
people ever offered to buy anything from me at the really valuable price
they suggest I can get.
The black record seller's handle is CMAGEE. When he doesn't sell the
records and gets the E-Bay bill for his listing fee, he will know it really
"tain't funny, Magee".
