I was wrong (just one in a series).

The cover image on Selling Sounds was a photograph and it was not photoshopped.

The designer bought the image from a British animal photographer.  

The image was used primarily for the dog effect.  

The photographer also was not a machine guy.

Maybe the dog was a machine dog and had a seizure when asked to pose with the Crapophone.
