I remember listening to the original "Make Believe Ballroom" in the 1930s on KFWBam Los Angeles. My first indoctrination into swing and dance music.
Later i got a wind up phonograph and ive been accumulating records ever since.
There were some great music programs on radio Sat and Sun night. Your Hit Parade on Sat.... who remembers "The Manhatten Merry go-round?" "Touring the alluring, New York town"... sung by the chorus... Don
Vorheese and the Bell telephone hour.... on and on...
Where oh where has outstanding radio gone ?? only to be replaced by "How much is that doggie in window".
Its lucky that some of those great music programs can be found on old AFRS trascriptions, some Thesaurus ets as well.
I cant remember where my cell phone is, but i can sure remember good music from 70 years ago lol
