They made a great dance team in those Warners musicals...and Gene is great
with Virginia Mayo in She's Working Her Way Through College...man, would I
like a DVD of that but the powers that be don't seem to be interested in
it...even though it also has a good performance from the Man Who Was Later
POTUS.

Ironically, I'm working my way through Warners Doris Day Spotlight
Collection with 5 "new to DVD" films. In "Tea For Two" (one of the remakes
of No No Nannette) she sings many of the Youmans Dietz songs from 1930 show.
(And really tap dances as well as Debbie Reynolds in her early films. In the
open scene - before the flashback to the story taking place in 1929, we are
in 1949 and the 12 inch "lindy" record on the record player is plated using
a drop down spindle. I think they weren't around yet. ;-)

Anyway there are only 3 musicals in the set and the Gene Kelly piece of
fluff "Tunnel of Love" is one of the non musicals. Prints are nice but not
enough to recommend the set.
