"New Shep" gave way to a return of "Old Shep" pretty quick...he went back to 
rippling sometime during the war.  I think there are some ripplers on Vogue 
and also Musicraft. which would date from c. 1945-6.

Polly Bergen was married to his brother,  Freddie,  who was an agent...I 
think that's what Shep also ended up doing after he quite leading a band.

How long did Shep and his "New Music" last? Some 1960s or '70s things he did 
for Reader's Digest never vary from the old "Rippling Rhythm" formula.
