[78-L] Wade Mainer

I haven't researched the songs, but most look to be public domain. What royalties are these people claiming? Certainly Mainer & clan were probably paid a?flat rate?per side for the sessions and aren't entitled to mechanical royalties for these. I wonder if they know that they were hornswaggled by Eli Oberstein or are they just figuring this out 70 years later?

This is really interesting - about 2 weeks ago I received a couple of sharp 
reviews from J.E. Mainer's daughter claiming that Wade was taking credit for 
all of J.E.'s work & should be paying J.E. family royalties? Very strange, 
but it sounds like time has driven a rift in the family?
I think she submitted 4 reviews, but they all said pretty much the same
