[78-L] Folkways

[Thomas Stern]

As many have an interest in "Folkways records" - could you provide some
information about this 'other' Folkways label?  Who owned/ran it,
where was it located, what did they issue?

Erm, by 1973 Folkways had been up and running approximately 25 years!
It's the only record label I've ever heard of that refused to delete
any of its releases from its catalogue.  Its founder, Moses Asch, died
in the 1980s (IIRC) but my understanding is the operation went to the
Library of Congress upon Asch's death.  And they have kept it running
ever since.
