Definitely Peter Cottontail..Gene Autry and Spike Jones did it (the latter with 
a totally revolting vocal by Marian Richman). Autry also gave us The Funny 
Little Bunny (With the Powderpuff Tail).

And for the more sophisticated among us (but again, not on 78)..
