[78-L] Artie Wayne, journeyman recording artist?

RACHEL by Wayne charted on Billboard in 1953, covered by Al Martino, but the
Wayne version peaked higher. He later had a two sided hit on Mercury, MY
HYMN (TO HER) /WATERMELON IN DECEMBER. In 1945 his recording with Freddy
Martin of DREAM reached the Top Ten.

If it's the same Artie Wayne, he was a vocalist with Freddy Martin's band
for awhile. Also had an LP on the RKO Unique label. Don't remember the
title, but it was dedicated to Swedish actress Anita Ekberg.
