Opinion seconded. My copy is hardback; I see from
www.bookfinder.com
(an umbrella site for many secondhand book sites, including ABE and
Alibris) that it is readily available. I bought my copy from the
publisher, whom I found most helpful, given that I was buying from the
UK.
Recommended!

>Wonderful book, I thought. Takes a look at many of the pioneer white jazz

>There is a well-known local jazz "authority" who refused to read the book on
>the grounds that it was "racist"...an absurd and ignorant claim. The book
>is well-written, informative, and is as exciting as a good novel.

>I bought it new for $35 or so. I think it's in paperback and you can always
>find used copies on line at www.alibris.com or also www.abebooks.com .
>You can easily search those sites by title and author (Sudhalter).
