Someone mentioned Freddy Fender. I remember hearing an interview of him 
a while ago. He said his work used to be all in Spanish and he did stuff 
in English as a side until he became popular, then it was the other way 
around. One could hear in that interview how he became great. He had 
such a wonderful personality and was so natural as a musician, and so 
versatile. A genius at his trade.
