Harry Adaskin played second violin in the Hart House String Quartet and his
memoir A Fiddler's World includes a photo of the group outside the Montreal
Studios of The Victor Talking Machine Co of Canada.
I'm madly scanning the book in order to recall what ,,,if anything,,,he
says about the recording sessions. A book with no index is a trial.

"Canadian Musical Masterpiece Series No. 1" is on the front of the album. In
all likelihood the pieces were all recorded in Montreal since there was no
such
facility in Toronto before c. 1940.
