Forwarded From Brad Kay SUPRBATONE at aol.com who is still having trouble posting:

Freed from his cornerstone, where he was trapped for decades, what grand old
vaudeville performer was Michigan J. Frog supposed to be emulating? Was it
Joseph E. Howard, who wrote "Hello, Ma Baby" and sounds like MJF? Or was it
Eddie Jackson, of Clayton, Jackson & Durante, who used to strut the stage with
high hat, cane and tails, exactly like MJF? Enquiring minds want to know.
-Brad Kay

Having never seen Joseph E. Howard, but having seen Eddie Jackson --
especially on that famous cover of his Audio Fidelity LP -- it might be
a good guess that it is Jackson.
