Folks,
can anyone tell me why Bernard Herrmann stopped composing for film
between the years 1947 and 1951? Was it simply for personal reasons? I
notice that he divorced author Lucille Fletcher during that time.
I saw the gap in his output accidentally when I was looking for
some replacement discs for a different film composer, Miklos Rozsa. Rozsa
had put the score for "The red house" (1947) on a three disc album. What
would a 78 RPM discography for Herrmann look like?
