Traubel was a great sport and always appeared to have a hell of a good time 
with Durante on his TV shows. She was a relaxed, veteran performer who 
didn't
manifest a bit of the usual operatic hubris. She was a huge Metropolitan 
Opera and recording star but sure didn't act like one. A warm and very funny 
lady who, unlike most other opera noteworthies, could swing popular ditties 
with the best of them.
Her operatic recordings are legend, especially the Wagnerian performances on 
Columbia,  paired with the great Lauritz Melchior.

I have Durante and Traubel on British Coral: "Club Durant", that's the
name of the LP; they sing "Put On Your Old Grey Bonnet/ Waiting For The
Robert E. Lee". Not from RCA obviously.
