I hadn't heard David Whitfield's "Cara Mia" before, so I sought it out and found it here in a format that's unbreakable (unless of course you smash your computer):

He reminds me a bit of Arthur Tracy, The Street Singer (whose 1933 record of "Play, Fiddle, Play" I played on yesterday's "Forward Into the Past" show in a tribute to the late composer-lyricist Jack Lawrence, whose first hit song this was). As for "Cara Mia," I think I prefer the version by Jay and the Americans.
