John Blackburn wrote "Need You" in 1949 with Teepee Mitchell and Lou Porter.
It was recorded by Jo Stafford and Gordon McRae. The song remained on the
Billboard charts for 13 weeks and peaked at number four and was picked up by
several country singers, including Sonny James and Slim Whitman.
In 1957 Oscar Peterson recorded Blackburn & Suessdorf's "Susquehanna".

Karl Suessdorf co-wrote "Christmas Madonna" and "Coral Sea" with lyrics by
Nick Cea, "Key Largo" and "She Doesn't Laugh Like You" with Benny Carter and
Leah Worth and a 1949 hit for Perry Como: "Did Anyone Ever Tell You, Mrs.
Murphy?", with lyrics by Leah Worth and Lloyd Sloan.

The haiku form of "Moonlight In Vermont" has been observed and commented on
many times before. What's interesting is that it's not just the number of
syllables that is correct; the lyrics also follow the haiku tradition of
simple, everyday observations of weather and wild life, without much use of
metaphors.
