Thanks to Bruce for posting this clip. I'd watched it a while back and am
still struck by how fresh and "real" it seems. Not a polished band by any
stretch but it has such a live and unself-conscious feel to it. I love the
parts where the band stops and makes little bows...I imagine audiences of
the period would clap at the end of each tune.
I wonder if the date might actually be 1927, as that's the year of all the
tunes they play. Or perhaps the release was delayed a while.
