Hello ,
 
So sad to hear of the death of Allen Debus.  I met Allen and his then new wife around 1955 when they came to England for, I guess, the first time.  We had exchanged correspondence for the previous year.
 
What a charming man - a 'gentleman' in the very meaning of the word..  And to my surprise, just as I was leaving his London flat, he handed me an unexpected gift of a rare Paramount 78 of Blind Lemon.  I've cherished it ever since.
