A neighbor of mine gave me a copy of an item appearing in something called "Yankee Ingenuity." It discusses Gold Records and what might have been "the first million seller record."

To quoth: "Nobody knows for sure what the first million-selling record was. One likely candidate: 'Ragging the Baby To Sleep,' recorded by Al Jolson on April 17, 1912."

Wha?!!
