Rats was 'star' backwards, and imitated a similar organization in  London.  
At the same time, say Abel Green and Koe Laurie, Jr., there were  at least who 
minority organizations: a Negro actor society, headed by Bert  Williams, 
William Walker, Bill Cole & J. Rosamond Johnson, ans Dudley, Avery  & Hart, and a 
Hebrew Actors Union.  See: From Vaude to Video, p.  95-96.  No mention is made
