Wonder where Nelson Eddys recording of "Shortnin' Bread" fits into the
scheme of things?

Hi!

Words are interesting.

From what someone said here, the word 'mulatto' is offensive in New York.
The word 'mulata' in Brazil is usually used to refer to the most
gorgeous desirable women who are mixed race or even black.

Incidentally, I read somewhere that Abe Lincoln himself once said
something along the lines of 'I have never said nor will ever say the
the negro is the equal of the white man'. Can anyone corroborate that?

If so, (and it's still an IF) it's another lesson that we should
never see other eras though current eyes. If it's true, he was STILL
responsible for the freeing of slaves.

Earl.
