For Chrissakes, can we stop this friggin', stupid bickering about race?
Nobody's mindset is going to be changed no matter what anybody says, so why
don't we just drop this idiotic thread? In other words, you go your way and
I'll go mine. (and I'll get to Scotland before ye).

Why does President Obama's racial background matter to you?

Does it add anything by way of incremental insight to note to someone you're
talking with (as if he or she doesn't already know) that President Obama is
an African American?

If you want to road test the use of the word "mulatto", by all means, go to
someplace like the South Bronx and start talking with the homies and use the
term as in, "I understand your mulatto President, Barack Obama, is going to
close the detention facility at Guantanamo Bay", and report back to us as to
the kind of reception you got.

However, in the above-cited sentence, what's gained by the inclusion of the
word "mulatto"?

Nothing I can see, other than some incremental insight as to what's
important to you.

I think the mules complained. I guess it's also politically uncorrect (PU)
to
listen to "Octoroon" and "My Pretty Quadroon".

By the way, Abe Lincoln, Thomas Jefferson, Warren Harding and Andrew Jackson
have recently been cited as not being lily white. Lincoln may also have been
Jewish. Oy.
