[78-L] Race observations

 I'm sorry to write that this discussion appears to have emerged because I 
brought up A.J. ;  some of the reaction was typical and continues downhill.

 The "blackface discussion" has been held on the Jolson Forum for years, and 
about the only conclusion reached is: Never The Twain Shall Meet; people who 
think it was just makeup and not (usually) meant to offend are considered 
ignorant bigots by the Anti crowd, and the Anti are considered ignorant 
self-righteous PC frauds by the first crowd   Useless frustration with 
why-won't-they-see-my-point, whichever point you think you have, should be 
expressed there. (Just Google Al Jolson Forum & you'll find it - but they'll 
ignore you, because it's just as boring and endless as it has become here.)
