The harsh reality of the XXI Jahrhundert is the fact that "conservative"
thought
(which, I suspect, is your chosen philosophy...?!) was "hi-jacked" by a
group
of terminally greedy wealthy-wannabes who immediately set themselves
up with six, seven and eight-figure "paycheques" simply because they
COULD!! As far as most of the current "public" knows/cares, THAT is
who they think of...better defined as the "greed is GOOD!" school of
economic thought...!
Prior to turning 65, I was trying to survive on a miserably-small "public
disability pension" (around $11,000 annually)...and a LOT of my better-
off acquaintances regularly informed me that I really ought to crawl off
and die, as I was a waste of their tax money!!
So...you'll have to pardon my negative opinion of "conservatism"...
ESPECIALLY as it is practiced by all too many of its advocates...?!
