The movie was called 'All night long' 1961,directed by and starring Richard Attenborough, It's a cool but cringeworthy 'Jazz' adaptation of othello. It features cameos by Dave Brubeck,Charles Mingus,Johnny Dankworth & Tubby hayes. Patrick McGoohan plays Johnny Cousins, hotshot Jazz drummer, sittin' in
with the aforementioned Cats, Johnny gets up to all sorts of Japes, tempting reformed pothead with what harm can one jazzfag do rhetoric...Splicing covert tape
recordings of innocent conversation into confirmation of betrayal...MacGoohan turns in a fantastic performance,he took drum lessons from Phil Seaman for 8 weeks in order to appear convincing behind the kit...There is a fantastic soundtrack Lp,it has a priceless full cover shot of Patrick sitting behind his monogrammed Johnny Cousins drumkit, all parked on a runway and shot in glorious technicolor (the film was black and white) It is sad that we have lost such a great actor and visionary!
                                            Be seeing you !

With luck he may finally encounter the real Number 1. I wonder if Blogojevich will be offering the Number 6 position. Anyone ever catch the film he was in with Brubeck? Can't recall the name of it but it was a sniveling despicable out of character roll for McGoohan.
