Wouldn't it have been special if that poet (whoever she is) had walked up to
the microphone, smiled sweetly, closed her eyes and intoned....."There once
was a man from Nantucket..."

Subject: [78-L] Obama quotes Dorothy Fields (not OT, the song was on 78)
"Starting Today, We Must Pick Ourselves Up, Dust Ourselves Off, and Begin
Again
the Work of Remaking America"
I mentioned to a theatre friend that a Dorothy Fields lyric had been
paraphrased and he asked which one. When I told him, he replied that he'd
expected "Hey, Big Spender" or "There's Gotta Be Something Better than This"
Both good choices.
(No idea who that poet Elizabeth Whatsername is, but Robert Frost she ain't
)
