[78-L] Blues on the radio

Dutch collectors had one major source for American blues records in the
30ies and that was Singapore and Djakarta (or Batavia as it was then
called). Apparantly Brunswick's 7000 race records were dumped there at the
time and many found their way to this country in new condition. Most of
these have by now left again (traded, sold) but there still are in Dutch
collections.
Also there were a few specialized shops who sold new Paramounts, Columbias,
Victors, presumably from American dealer's stocks.
