In fact...King DID! The 3-digit series, IIRC, was their c&w series (which
was their
main product initially...?!) and the 15xxx issues were "pop music"
issues...!
Once upon a time, there was a post-1942 "Dating Guide," assembled by
(forget his first name) Daniels; it was intended to supplement my own DG
(and Mr. Daniels asked my permission and worked closely with me
on his project...!). AFAIK, this is long since unavailable...which is a
DURNED shame! Don't recall who published it, either...but it is a
reference work which desperately cries out for re-issue!!!
