(OTOH...back 121 years ago,in 1888, we had to cite MDCCCLXXXVIII...
or 13 characters...to express the current year!! It'll be WORSE in 8888, if
we last that long. Stonecutters must have REALLY raked in coins...IF they
were paid so-much-per-character [bet they HATED 2000, or MM...eh?!])
