I was just about to post this alert when I saw your message. The one Christmas record that has evaded me for over 50 years is ONE SOLITARY LIFE, alternately known as HERE WAS A MAN, a recitation by Milton Cross. I have the Lorne Greene and Tex Ritter versions but would love to find this one. It dates back at least to the eary fifties, but I'm not sure if it was on 78,33,45,film soundtrack, or TV show.

I've asked this before on 78L but with many new list members this year, I have my hopes up once again.

However, there's one 33 rpm LP I have that's never been digitized (as far as I can tell) which has some truly remarkable analog recordings on it from the WW II era including "O Holy Night" by Robert Merrill (an earlier and better recording of this carol than the version you can now find on CD by Merrill); "Isn't It A Shame That Christmas Comes But Once A Year" by Jimmy Durante; and "Il Est Ne, Le Divin Enfant" by Edith Piaf.
