This was brought up in other posts already but Steve's wording might 
confuse some people -- and Steve might be confused himself.  The speeds 
below 160 were used during the brown wax years in the 1890s.  By around 
1900 or 01, it was brought up to 160 where it stayed thru the 2 minute 
Gold Moulds, and the 4 minute Amberols and Blue Amberols.  The 
rotational speed did not change between the 2 and 4 minute cylinders, 
only the grooving.  It went from 100 threads per inch to 200.

And to Jorge -- I don't think your questions were stupid.
