Obviously some errors by the copyright departments here!

"Sugar" by Milton Ager, Jack Yellen, Frank Crum & Loring "Red" Nichols
is a completely different song from

"Sugar" (sub title - "That Sugar Baby O' Mine")
by Maceo Pinkard, Edna Alexander, Sidney D. Mitchell

although they were both first published in 1927!

from the Okeh matrix 82030 (December 8 1927)
the Library of Congress shows:

Okeh 41011 & Odeon 193161 to be the Ager, Yellen, Crum, Nichols title
Columbia 35951 to be the Pinkard work!

So which title was recorded?

http://www.redhotjazz.com/mcc.html

This sounds to me like the Pinkard work!

Compare it to the Original Indiana Five (May 1 1927)

http://www.redhotjazz.com/oi5.html

which is definitely the Pinkard work.

Nigel.

(ASCAP lists NO recordings of the Yellen work but 30 or more of the Pinkard
one).
