Interesting. I hadn't planned on getting a Blu-Ray machine this soon,
but last week in the Brooklyn Best Buy Leah spotted on close-out sale
the LG dual-system machine that also plays SuperDVDs. We had been
looking to find a machine to play this discarded format and this served
that purpose as well as getting us as inexpensive a Blu-Ray machine as
is now available ($250). Been looking for places closing out cheap on
stock of SuperDVDs and have only been able to find one disc so far, a
demo disc. To celebrate we bought (also on sale) the Blu-Ray
Smile-Boxed disc set of the Cinerama "How The West Was Won" which Leah
and I were able to see in real three-strip Cinerana in Dayton, Ohio a
few years ago, along with "This Is Cinerama." (In that case I really
blew the mind of the Cinerama expert who owned the original prints and
equipment when I demonstrated to him that the surround sound of the
entrance of the Italian church choir was faked!!! No historian had ever
noted this, but it was obvious to me in seconds.)
