They did it at least once:  Beecham's NYPhil rec of Strauss' Don Quixote.
Issued by Victor in the USA and Columbia in England.  Probably a contractual
thing, NYPhil to Victor, Beecham to UK Columbia.  There are other Beecham
examples [the Sibelius Society and a couple of others]  where one recorded
something and the other issued it; tho' admittedly this was EMI and not US.
Keeps collectors' lives interesting!

I do have an odd Indian HMV 78 of two Count Basie Columbia sides from 1941.
Strange to see Basie's name on a Nipper label!
