What size...?! IF we are speaking of sleeves for 16" discs (so that the
piece of paper is
about 17" x 34" allowing for folding/gluing room...?!)...and IF the paper
comes in 36" wide
rolls...then the calculation becomes simpler! Each 34" length (2' 10", or 2
5/6, or 2.87)
will produce two 16" sleeves. Therefore, 10,000 sleeves will require
5000/2.87 feet of
stock...or, the sleeves will require 4722.22 feet of paper stock. This is
about .89436 of
a mile of 36"-wide paper, BTW...?!
For *50,000* sleeves...we multiply by five...! Thus we need 23611.11 feet of
paper
(just short of FIVE miles...4.47 to be exact...?!)
Now, if we assume it takes one full minute to glue the sleeves (this assumes
the
initial efforts will be slow...but practice makes perfect...?!), we will be
able to
assemble 833-1/3 sleeves per hour. This means we can assemble our requisite
50,000 sleeves in 60 hours of working time...! That is 7.5 normal working
days,
or 1-1/2 normal weeks of work...!
However...if we assume your time to be worth the recommended minimum
wage of $10/hour...those 50,000 sleeves cost you $600.00...or 1.2 cents
apiece...in labour...?!
Of course, these figures do NOT include the possibility of your inadvetantly
gluing yourself to the cat...which will involve emergency surgery for
yourself
for cat-inflicted wounds, as well as vet bills concerning the cat...?!
In fact, we are REdefining "Stickum up!"...?!
