For texts involving more than one language (also for e-mail viewing) I prefer "Arial Unicode" font (NOT identical with "Arial" !) - gives a very clear and legible printout down to very small font sizes if necessary, and includes literally *everything* including Hebrew, Arabic, Japanese and Chinese characters. This is a proprietary Microsoft font AFAIK, and I have no idea if there is an equivalent for Mac/Linux users. If you use a non-Unicode font (i.e. one with a less-than-complete array of characters), your software will either display missing characters as little empty boxes or query marks, or will "borrow" them from a (theoretically) similar-looking font that has them, which can easily make your text look more like a cut-and-paste blackmail letter job, and often throws your settings for spacing and tabs....
