It's not my place to explain any singer. Bocelli is serious about 
classical music. Given his late start, he makes it clear that he is 
motivated and committed. But that late start - even more than his 
blindness - means that he cannot 'make it' in opera.

There are highly respected singers who make me run screaming to the next 
room or farther.
